Lost in the Sauce: Barr's DOJ shut down investigations of Trump and admin officials

Welcome to Lost in the Sauce, keeping you caught up on political and legal news that often gets buried in distractions and theater… or a global health crisis.
Housekeeping:

Post-election

On Saturday, Trump announced on Twitter that he has put his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani in charge of his campaign's long-shot post-election legal challenges. Other people on the team include Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis.
  • Giuliani worked with a Russian agent to smear Biden. diGenova and Toensing tried to get the Justice Department to drop charges against corrupt Ukraine oligarch Dmytro Firtash. Powell represents Michael Flynn and champions "deep state" conspiracies. Ellis said gay marriage leads to pedophilia.
NYT: Mr. Trump turned to Mr. Giuliani earlier on Friday in reaction to the latest setback he faced in court, this one relating to votes in Maricopa County, Arizona… A half-dozen other Trump advisers have described Mr. Giuliani’s efforts as counterproductive and said that he was giving the president unwarranted optimism about what could happen… In an Oval Office meeting with aides on Thursday, Mr. Trump put Mr. Giuliani on speakerphone so the others could hear him. He angrily accused the aides of not telling the president the truth
Giuliani’s conspiracy-riddled rant at Four Seasons Total Landscaping was so disastrous that it “scared off many of the lawyers” recruited to argue election-related lawsuits. Politico: “Campaign officials described the episode as disastrous...there are widespread concerns within Trumpworld and GOP circles that Giuliani’s antics are thwarting the president’s legal machinery from within.”
Two major law firms have withdrawn from Trump campaign cases as his legal challenges crumble. Arizona’s largest law firm Snell & Wilmer dumped the RNC and Trump campaign effort to challenge votes in Maricopa County. Porter Wright Morris & Arthur is abandoning Trump’s attempt to block Pennsylvania's popular vote for Joe Biden.
  • In one day (Friday), nine cases meant to attack President-elect Joe Biden's win in key states were denied or dropped - seven in Pennsylvania, one in Arizona, and one in Michigan.
The new federal chief information security officer, Camilo Sandoval, has already taken leave from his day job to participate in a pro-Trump effort to hunt for evidence of voter fraud in the battleground states. The group, Voter Integrity Fund, is a newly formed Virginia-based group that is analyzing ballot data and cold-calling voters. Sandoval was officially appointed on Nov. 4, 2020, but lists his starting date at October on his personal LinkedIn page.
WaPo: Sandoval is part of a hastily convened team led by Matthew Braynard, a data specialist who worked on Trump’s 2016 campaign. Another participant is Thomas Baptiste, an adviser to the deputy secretary of the Interior Department who also took a leave to work on the project. Braynard said in an interview that several other government officials on leave are also assisting the effort, but he declined to identify them.
Media’s role:
  • Facebook Cut Traffic To Leading Liberal Pages Just Before The Election: Liberal page administrators who spoke with BuzzFeed News said that their reach declined by as much as 70%, and still hasn’t recovered.
  • Facebook Live Spread Election Conspiracies And Russian State-Controlled Content Despite Employee Fears: The social network’s live video tool has recommended videos featuring misinformation and the hyperpartisan views of Trump allies leading up to and following election day in the US.
  • In the week after the election, Trump’s postings dominated Facebook, accounting for the 10 most engaged status updates in the United States, and 22 of the top 25. “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!” was his top post.
  • YouTube Is Doing Very Little to Stop Election Misinformation From Spreading
  • Social media app Parler receives financial backing from conservative hedge-fund investor Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah, The Wall Street Journal reported. Parler turned into a kind of de facto home for conservatives’ protests against the election— including the persistent “Stop the Steal” campaign— after the race was called for former Vice President Joe Biden. Several high-profile conservative social media personalities encouraged people to abandon Twitter and Facebook because of their moderation policies, and instead follow them on Parler.

Transition

Emily Murphy, the head of the General Services Administration, still hasn’t signed the official letter that would allow the incoming Biden team to formally begin the transition. House Democrats are assessing options to force the GSA’s hand, which could include summoning Murphy to the Hill to testify or suing her. “Obviously, Congress could file suit against the GSA administrator for failing to do her duty. We could seek to get a court to, in fact, issue an order
Her ascertainment is the legally necessary precursor to the government’s assistance to the Biden-Harris Presidential Transition Team. It releases $6.3 million dollars to the team, which is funded by public and private money; a loan of expanded federal office space and equipment; access to government agencies that will begin sharing information and records about ongoing activities, plans and vulnerabilities; national security briefings for the president; and other support.
  • The Office of the Director of National Intelligence recently confirmed that it is not providing national security briefings to the president-elect. The Defense Department has also reportedly indicated that it will not meet with the Biden-Harris transition team until Murphy formally affirms the apparent winner.
One of the officials fired in Trump’s latest purge was helping prepare for the transition to the new administration. USAID Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick was removed abruptly to make way for a Trump loyalist after she had been supportive of transition planning, including the preparation of a 440-page manual for the next administration.
The GSA’s refusal to enact the transition has locked Biden’s team out of crucial Covid-19 pandemic data and government agency contacts. The president-elect’s Covid-19 task force has been trying to work around the federal government by connecting with governors and the health community.
  • The head of Operation Warp Speed, Moncef Slaoui, called on the White House to allow contact with the Biden team, saying “It is a matter of life and death for thousands of people.”
White House’s Office of Management and Budget is considering 145 new regulations and other policy changes they could enact before Biden’s inauguration - rules that will be challenging to undo once they are finalized. Critics and supporters of the administration say they expect a final burst of regulations to be finalized in the weeks before Jan. 20.
The rules under development include policies that the incoming Biden administration would probably oppose, such as new caps on the length of foreign student visas; restrictions on the Environmental Protection Agency’s use of scientific research; limits on the EPA’s consideration of the benefits of regulating air pollutants; and a change that would make it easier for companies to treat workers as independent contractors, rather than employees with more robust wage protections.
Last week, both Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said they’re preparing for a second Trump term. “There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” Pompeo said during a news conference Tuesday afternoon (clip). Pompeo then doubled down on Fox News (clip). “We are moving forward here at the White House under the assumption there will be a second Trump term,” Navarro said on Fox Business Friday (clip).

DOJ interference

Attorney General William Barr stopped career prosecutors in DOJ’s Public Integrity Section from investigating whether President Trump broke any laws related to his conduct with Ukraine last year. The section was initially given the green light to pursue “a potentially explosive inquiry” into Trump, but after the Senate acquitted the president during impeachment proceedings, Barr sent the case to the U.S. attorney’s office in Brooklyn.
Prosecutors in DOJ’s Public Integrity Section were also prevented from bringing charges against former interior secretary Ryan Zinke by political appointees atop the Justice Department. Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen told prosecutors that they needed to gather more evidence and refine the case against Zinke for lying to Interior investigators.
  • The investigation into Zinke stemmed from his decision to block two Native American tribes—the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan—from opening a casino in Connecticut. Zinke’s office had been lobbied heavily by MGM Resorts International, which had been planning to open its own casino very close to where the tribes intended to break ground.
Sixteen assistant U.S. attorneys specially assigned to monitor malfeasance in the 2020 election urged Barr on Friday to rescind his memo allowing election-fraud investigations before results are certified. "It was developed and announced without consulting non-partisan career professionals in the field and at the Department. Finally, the timing of the Memorandum's release thrusts career prosecutors into partisan politics," the prosecutors wrote.
An internal Justice Department investigation found that federal prosecutors who oversaw a controversial non-prosecution deal with Jeffrey Epstein in 2008 exercised “poor judgment” but did not break the law. “They just say he used poor judgment, and that's their way of basically letting everyone off the hook while offering some sort of an olive branch to the victims that we acknowledge weren't treated perfectly,” said Brad Edwards, who sued the DOJ in 2008 on behalf of Epstein accusers.

Immigration news

Eastern District of New York Judge Nicholas Garaufis (Clinton-appointee) ruled that Chad Wolf was not legally serving as acting Homeland Security secretary when he signed rules limiting DACA program applications and renewals. Therefore, in a win for Dreamers and immigration activists, Garaufis said the changes were invalid.
The judge described an illegitimate shuffling of leadership chairs at the Department of Homeland Security, the agency responsible for immigration enforcement, for the predicament of Wolf's leadership and that of his predecessor, Kevin McAleenan.
"Based on the plain text of the operative order of succession," Garaufis wrote in the Saturday ruling, "neither Mr. McAleenan nor, in turn, Mr. Wolf, possessed statutory authority to serve as Acting Secretary. Therefore the Wolf Memorandum was not an exercise of legal authority."
  • There's a renewed push to get Chad Wolf confirmed as Homeland Security secretary -- a position in which he's been serving in an acting capacity for a yearr -- before Inauguration Day. In the past week, Homeland Security officials spoke to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's office about bringing the nomination to a floor vote in the coming weeks.
Within the last six months, as the coronavirus pandemic gripped the US, the Trump administration filed 75 lawsuits to seize private land along the US-Mexico border for the border wall." People right now are having to choose between their health and their homes," said Ricky Garza, a staff attorney at the Texas Civil Rights Project, a legal advocacy group.
After a series of price increases, Trump’s border project will cost taxpayers $20 million per mile of border fence. A review of federal spending data shows more than 200 contract modifications, at times awarded within just weeks or months after the original contracts, have increased the cost of the border wall project by billions of dollars since late 2017.
DHS has expelled unaccompanied immigrant children from the US border more than 13,000 times since March, using the coronavirus as an excuse to deny children their right to asylum. Previously, unaccompanied children were sent to government-run shelters as they attempted to pursue their asylum cases.
Migrant children from Central America are being expelled to Mexico, where they have no family connections. The expulsions not only put children in danger - the policy violates a diplomatic agreement with Mexico that only Mexican children and others who had adult supervision could be pushed back into Mexico after attempting to cross the border.
The House Judiciary Committee released a report on the Trump administration’s policy of separating families at the border, revealing that the federal agency that cares for migrant children was not told about the policy. The chaos contributed to the inability to later reunite parents and children.
The Trump administration is trying to deport several women who allege they were mistreated by a Georgia gynecologist at an immigration detention center. Hours after one detained woman spoke to federal investigators about forced hysterectomies at a Georgia detention center, she said ICE told her that it had lifted a hold on her deportation and she faced “imminent” removal. Six former patients who complained about Dr. Mahendra Amin had already been deported.
Northern District of Illinois Judge Gary Feinerman (Obama-appointee) blocked a key Trump administration policy that allowed officials to deny green cards to immigrants who might need public assistance Advocates who had feared that the policy would harm tens of thousands of poor people, particularly those affected by widespread job loss because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Miscellaneous

Microsoft said it has detected attempts by state-backed Russian and North Korean hackers to steal valuable data from leading pharmaceutical companies and vaccine researchers. “Among the targets, the majority are vaccine makers that have COVID-19 vaccines in various stages of clinical trials.”
Two census takers told The AP that their supervisors pressured them to enter false information into a computer system about homes they had not visited so they could close cases during the waning days of the once-a-decade national headcount.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday signaled it’s unlikely to tear down Obamacare over a Republican-backed lawsuit challenging the landmark health care law. Chief Justice John Roberts and Trump appointee Justice Brett Kavanaugh strongly questioned whether the elimination of the mandate penalty made the rest of the law invalid. Kavanaugh appeared to signal on several occasions that he favored leaving the rest of the law intact if the mandate is struck.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) was sued last week by four whistleblowers claiming that he abused his office to benefit himself, a woman with whom he was said to have had an affair, and the wealthy donor who employs her before retaliating against the members of his staff who reported him to the FBI.
The Trump administration is rushing plans to auction drilling rights in the U.S. Arctic National Wildlife Refuge before the inauguration of Biden, who has vowed to block oil exploration in the rugged Alaska wilderness. Biden’s efforts could be complicated if the Trump administration sells drilling rights first. Formally issued oil and gas leases on federal land are government contracts that can’t be easily yanked.

The death of George Smith aboard a cruise ship on July 5th, 2005, is it another cruise ship suicide or foul play?

George Smith was an American man who, while on his honeymoon in 2005, was reported to have fallen overboard and drowned. Due to his remains never being located and the suspicious details of his apparent death the case remains unsolved.
Background
George Allen Smith was born on October 3rd, 1978. At the age of 26 he had been helping his family run their liquor store in Cos Cob, Connecticut. Described as clean-cut and smart, George was planning to take over the running of the liquor store once he had married his Fiancé, Jennifer Hagel.
Jennifer Hagel was 25 in 2005 and was about to begin a job as a third grade teacher, she had studied and graduated from Roger William's university with a Masters in Education the year before.
The couple had married in June 2005 in what friends and family described as a the perfect story-book wedding at the Inn at Castle Hill, Newport, Rhode Island. For their honeymoon, the couple had decided to take a Mediterranean Cruise.
The Cruise Ship
The Cruise Ship that the newlyweds would be travelling one was the 'Brilliance of the Seas', the ship is a 90,000 Ton, 292 meter cruise ship operated by Royal Carribean Cruises and in 2005 was operating the Mediterranean route between Italy, Greece and Turkey.
With over 850 crew and capacity for more then 2,500 passengers on board, the ship is a large hotel complex at sea. The trip that George and Jennifer Smith elected to take was the longest of the trips offered at the time by the company, a two week round-trip that took in several stops in Italy, Greece and Turkey along the way.
The Events of July 5th 2005
The couple had boarded the ship with thousands of others in Barcelona, just a few days after their wedding in late June. They were said to be very happy and quickly made friends with some other couples, notably fellow honeymooners Paul and Galina Kvitnisky who described them as normal down to earth people who were great to talk to.
The Cruise Ship was travelling off the coast of Turkey on the night of July 4th. The Kvitniskys and the Smith's reportedly had dinner before going to the Casino around 1-2am on the morning of July 5th. The Kvitniskys later said that George was a competent gambler and with his Breitling watch and prosperous appearance he fit right in.
While at the casino George met up with a friend he had made on the trip named Josh Askin, he was teaching him to play craps and Josh's friends, cousins Zachary and Greg Rozenburg joined them with their friend Rusty Kofman. This was apparently interrupted when George noticed a cruise ship employee was getting close with his wife.
Witnesses later said that a Croupier named Lloyd Botah had been showing Jennifer a lot of attention as the night went on. A fellow cruise ship employee said that the nature of their relationship wasnt known to him but that what he had seen certainly went beyond professional boundaries.
When the casino closed at 2:30am, George, Jennifer, Lloyd, Josh, Zach, Greg and Rusty all headed for the disco, sitting at a table together the group had been reportedly drinking absinthe that had been smuggled onboard when George got into an argument with Lloyd Botah about his conduct around Jennifer. The argument reportedly moved to the dance floor and Jennifer and George had a loud argument infront of everyone before she kicked him in the groin and stormed out of the disco.
Lloyd Botah then left to follow Jennifer while a clearly drunk George was helped back to the table by the others. Shortly after the men were seen helping an unsteady George out of the disco. The 5 men walked back to George and Jennifer's Stateroom but when George saw that Jennifer wasnt there he became annoyed and set off to search for her, the other men later said they waited in the room until George returned and the men continued to drink.
Clete Hyman, the man staying in the room next to George and Jennifer, reported that there was loud noises coming from the room next door around 3am, he later explained it sounded like a party or loud card game and had reported the couple previously on the trip for making a racket.
Josh Askin, Greg and Zachary Rozenburg and Rusty Koffman all claim they left George alone in his room shortly after this complaint was made, Clete Hyman says he saw only three men leave the room at that time through his peep hole.
Clete Hyman said he had then tried to return to bed but within a few minutes heard a loud thud, assuming someone had knocked something over or drunkenly collapsed he went to sleep.
Jennifer Smith was found passed out drunk and lying in a hallway in another area of the ship by several crew members and was helped back to her room around 5am, she said that George wasnt there and she slept for a few hours before then waking in the morning and going to a spa despite not knowing where he was.
When questioned later about this lack of concern for her husband, Jennifer explained that they had both slept in other staterooms at different times on the trip so she had assumed he had spent the night somewhere else.
Before she had finished her massage at the spa, Jennifer Smith was paged over the ships intercom and summoned to her Stateroom. Blood had been found smeared on the canopy of a lifeboat that lay beneath the rooms balcony by a passing passenger and the ships captain had wanted to check that neither her or her husband had been injured.
It was at this time it was discovered George was no longer onboard the ship and the alarm was raised.
Investigation
Jennifer Smith was taken ashore along with Josh Askin and they were both questioned by Turkish police within 24 hours of George's disappearance. Jennifer was found to have an alibi though it wasnt made public what this was other then the moment the crew members found her passed out in a hallway around 5am.
Josh claimed that he and his 3 companions had returned to their rooms and ordered room service before staying up to watch tv, the Turkish police found that while calls had been made around the time they said, no food was recorded as having been delivered to them.
Josh then reboarded the cruise ship to continue the journey while Jennifer immediately flew back to the U.S. It was 48 hours later that George was declared likely drowned at sea, his remains were never found.
Josh, Greg, Zachary and Rusty were all expelled from the cruise ship several days later when they allegedly raped a female passenger and taped it on a camcorder they had with them. The Italian Police investigated this and once they reviewed the footage declared that no rape had occurred and the men and their families were put on a flight home.
George's family arrived in Europe by the end of the week, appearing on tv appealing for information and passing out flyers to cruise ship passengers, they criticised openly at the time Jennifer's actions in flying home so quickly and not returning with them. Jennifer and George's family both stated at the time that they believed George had been murdered.
Later Developments
George's family found Jennifer becoming more distant and argumentative with them as the months went by, they said that she once became angry that they had used a cropped photo of George with Actress Tara Reid instead of a photo that included her for missing posters and badges.
In 2006 the Family hired a private investigator, the investigator claimed they had information that indicated a video tape existed showing Jennifer having sex with other men prior to the night of George's disappearance, this tape failed to be located but some in the family have alleged it is in the possession of Royal Caribbean Cruises.
Josh, Greg and Zachary later appeared on Geraldo Rivera and maintained the same story they had already told, Rusty didnt appear.
In late 2006, Jennifer Hagel accepted a $1.1million settlement from Royal Caribbean Cruises, this was far beyond the legal required amount of $70,000 at the time. George's family criticised Jennifer for accepting the money and took her and Royal Carribean to court over the amount of money and the circumstances of the settlement, they alleged Jennifer was trying to avoid details of sexual affairs that occurred onboard during the cruise being made public. Jennifer stated shortly after receiving the settlement that George likely died as a result of a drunken accident.
The FBI became involved shortly after George's disappearance and began a lengthy investigation which found evidence that the Turkish Police had missed. Blood stains were located inside the cabin as well as on the balcony above the lifeboat canopy. Most telling for the investigation was that the blood stain on the canopy was in the distinctive shape of a man, an unusual thing to be found in accidents on cruise ships, typically little blood is left when someone falls from a cruise ship at sea but this seemed to suggest George had already been bleeding badly when he had landed on the canopy and then had slipped off into the sea.
The FBI investigation officially ended in 2015 finding they couldnt rule in the case in any way and returned an open finding. George's family immediately began petitioning the courts to refer the case to a new jurisdiction in order for it to be investigated.
Theories
George Accident
George was heavily intoxicated according to witnesses and cctv from the cruise ship on the night of July 5th, it is possible like in many circumstances of deaths on Cruise Ships that he had stumbled over the Balcony railing and to his death before eventually sliding off of the canopy and into the sea. This is disputed by his family but supported by the accounts of Josh, Greg, Zachary, Rusty and Jennifer.
George Suicide
George may have been despondent about Jennifer leaving the Disco with Lloyd Botah on the night of July 5th, once he was alone in the stateroom and began to sober up he could have been overcome with grief at the failing of his marriage and considering the alleged other sexual partners she had on the trip likely had become depressed and jumped from the balcony, in the dark he may not have seen the canopy below and lay there injured or dead for some time before falling from it into the sea.
George Murdered
George may have gotten into an altercation with whichever of the men had remained behind on the night of July 5th, Clete Hyman has said only 3 left but never publicly identified who he didnt see leaving. George may have been attacked or robbed by the man who stayed behind only to die and then be thrown from the balcony in an attempt to cover up the crime.
It has also been alleged that he may have gotten into an argument with Jennifer due to her whereabouts not being publicly known while the Turkish Police have said they were satisfied her movements had been accounted for.
Lloyd Botah had also been suggested as a suspect in the case as he and George had already almost come to blows earlier that morning, his whereabouts on July 5th after leaving the Disco have not been made public.
Regardless of the circumstances of his murder, Georges family supports the theory he met his end through foul play and people close to him that night have answers.
Jennifer Later Developements
Jennifer later went back to being known as Jennifer Hagel, left the search in 2007 and went to work at the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research in New York. She then moved to Fairfield, Connecticut to work with Near and Far Aid, a non-profit that supports the homeless.
In 2009, Jennifer Hagel married Jeff Agne, a Financial Advisor who worked in Global Healthcare Equities for Pinebridge Investments. The couple went on to have three children as of 2015, Jennifer's family said they couldnt be happier that she has moved on with her life.
The Death of Greg Rozenburg
15 years after George was lost at sea, Greg Rozenburg was murdered on the doorstep of his home by an unknown perpetrator or perpetrators. Police in Davie, Broward County, Florida said in September of 2020 that they hoped their continued investigation into Greg's death might reveal more about George's.
Conclusion
George Smith's case remains unresolved, it has torn family and friends apart and set different jurisdictions investigations at odds with each other. Without his remains being found it's unlikely a satisfactory conclusion could ever be reached in this case.
What do you believe happened to George Smith on July 5th, 2005?

Booking Jon Moxleys AEW Title Reign: Part 1 : Three Ring Circus

Introduction
Jon Moxley’s AEW championship has been good, but not great. After chasing the belt for months, and doing a heck of a job reaching the pinnacle, everything else has been a bit of a shell of something Moxley can do. There have been several booking mistakes, namely Moxley being fed debutee after another, and crushing the momentum they’ve had. Part of this hotshotting is due to the lack of fans, and part of this is due to lackluster booking. It is my job to fix it, and here’s my very plan to do just so. Here is my plan to make Jon Moxley’s title run as equally amazing as his run as the chaser.
Part 1
AEW Dynamite March 4th 2020
Jon Moxley starts out the show and comes through the crowd, holding the AEW Title belt high! He takes a moment every few steps, soaking up the fans' cheers and the realization that he finally is the number one man in a promotion. As Justin Roberts announces him as the new AEW World Champion, the fans cheer madly and the typically serious Moxley can’t help but grin and eat up the adoration he so rightly deserved.
Moxley gets to the ring after a while and grabs a mic, the title belt still on his shoulder. He makes a slow walking lap around the ring, then comes back center and starts to speak.
Moxley talks about his title victory against Chris Jericho, and makes a promise to defend the title for the fans. He will defend it frequently, and against the best talent AEW, and the rest of the world has to offer. He talks some more, thanking the fans, and celebrating the fact that finally he is the headstone of a promotion, but on that line, Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle interrupt and make their way down to the top of the ramp.
Jericho mocks Moxley, stating that he is the best wrestler in AEW, and he is the one that sells the tickets to pay the bills. In response, Moxley laughs and points to the video board where clips of him defeating Jericho, Guevara, Santana and Ortiz all pop up. Moxley says that at this point, he himself is a bigger brand than the entire Inner Circle. Jericho steps up and says that there’s one man that he hasn’t run through: Jake Hager. Hager steps up towards Moxley, while Moxley motions him on to fight. It looks like they are going to brawl, but Jericho yells at Hager to stop. Jericho tells Hager that he needs to do it in a sanctioned fight, and bring the title back to the Inner Circle. Moxley is game and tells Hager to bring it on. He will fight Jake Hager tonight, in the main event in his first title defense!
Later on in the night, PAC, Penta and Fenix officially align, forming the ever dangerous Death Triangle, becoming the next faction added to the AEW roster. They will look to pose a serious threat to AEW, and possibly the AEW champion.
Jake Roberts also interrupts Cody during the show, hyping the debut of his new protege. He will be revealed next week.
In the main event, Moxley clashes with Jake Hager over the AEW World Title.
Hager enters accompanied by the whole Inner Circle crew, while Moxley comes out by himself, only the title belt keeping him company.
As the bell rings to start the title defense, Moxley storms Hager, unloading pent up frustration into the body of his opponent. Hager continues to stand in this moment, and ends up lifting up Moxley as the fighting occurs. Hager slams Moxley down, forcing the champ to cover his body from the resulting stomps at the hand of Hager. Hager tries to force his way through the block, but Moxley catches the foot of Hager and trips him up. Moxley brings the offense now, irishing whipping his opponent into a Thesz press! Moxley and Hager go into a knock down drag out pace now, fitting both of their styles in a solid manner.
The match progresses with Hager using power spots to his advantage, but Moxley using his crafty style to find workarounds and keep the momentum fairly even. Hager’s offense and cheating from the Inner Circle nearly has Moxley on the ropes, but the champ manages to turn things permanently in his favor. A failed distraction from Jericho and Guevara ends up with Hager prone for a Paradigm Shift from Moxley. This is enough to pick him up the victory with a three count!
Jericho and company try to storm the ring, but Moxley rolls out and runs back through the crowd celebrating with the fans. The feud with the Inner Circle is finally put to an end as Moxley runs out of the arena and puts an exclamation mark on this episode of Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite March 11th 2020
On Dynamite, Lance Archer and Jake Roberts interfere in Cody’s match with Ortiz, trying to make a statement, and beat down the EVP. Archer and Roberts pose over Cody’s body, proving them a viable threat.
Elsewhere on the card, the newly established Death Triangle takes on Joey Janela and Private Party. While not really a squash, the result is never in question as Death Triangle runs rampant over their opponents. It is Pentagon picking up the win, pinning Janela with a Package Piledriver.
Jon Moxley is also seen on the show, having a sit down interview with Jim Ross in a private location. Ross asks Moxley about his title and what he wants to do with the top belt going forward in the future. Moxley talks to JR like an old friend, discussing how “back in Connecticut”, the belt, had devolved of its meaning. Moxley says that his primary goal of this reign, is to raise the prestige of the belt, defending it against fresh talent and making it the primary focus of the promotion. Ross asks him about Blood and Guts and the fight between the Elite and The Inner Circle. Moxley hypes up the match, knowing that it will take the spotlight in the evening. But Moxley also doesn't want the title to get lost in the shadows, and that’s why he will be defending the belt in two weeks against whoever chooses to face him for it. An open challenge is laid out on the line, now it is just up to his opponent to name themselves.
AEW Dynamite March 18th 2020
One week ahead of Blood and Guts, our show starts out with Death Triangle’s The Lucha Bros taking on Trent Baretta and Chuck Taylor of Best Friends. Death Triangle work together to cheat their way to victory, as Fenix rolls up Chuck Taylor after hitting a low blow behind the back of Aubrey Edwards. The heels beat up the faces after the bell with the help of PAC, but then Orange Cassidy runs down to the ring, evening the odds and fighting off Death Triangle! When the odds are evened and Death Triangle is chased off, Best Friends challenge Death Triangle to a six man tag match at Blood And Guts! A marquee match is lined up between two of the best trios AEW has to offer.
Lance Archer also hype his debut match as he will take on Darby Allin next week, adding another huge bout to the card.
The mystery man for the Blood and Guts ELITE team is also secretly hidden with fans speculating as to who is going to help out the figureheads from the company. Also in speculation is the fact that Jon Moxley will be defending the title, and the answer to the open challenge is in heavy consideration. Regardless, a huge card of matches is on the way, live and on free TV.
NJPW Cup 2020
Also important to note, is that going on in the background is the 2020 New Japan Cup! The United States Champion, Jon Moxley, is holding the belt going into the tournament, and will be representing both AEW and NJPW as the tournament progresses. Moxley wins his first round match in relatively easy fashion, as he knocks down Bullet Club founder Bad Luck Fale.
The rest of the results in Round 1 are as follows:
Moxley def Bad Luck Fale Toru Yano def Chase Owens Tomohiro Ishii def Toa Henare Jeff Cobb def Togi Makabe Kazuchika Okada def Jay White Suzuki def Nagata J Robinson def A. Coughlin D. Finley def T. Loa H.Tanahashi def Taichi K.Ibushi def ZSJ Sanada def M. Nicholls W. Ospreay def S. Takagi H. Tenzan def Yoshi-Hashi KENTA def K. Fredericks EVIL def S. Kojima H. Goto def Y. Takahashi
The next several rounds progress with Moxley entering into the finals, with Moxley defeating both Toru Yano, Jeff Cobb and Kazuchika Okada to advance on to face Hiroshi Tanahashi in the finals. Tanahashi and Moxley have a complete banger of a match, and it is Tanahashi having the Fighting Spirit to pull through and win the finals of the New Japan Cup! Tanahashi celebrates, but also looks at the titles Moxley retrieves from ringside. Although at first glance it appears Tanahashi is eyeing the US title, the camera pans around and reveals he is glaring right at the AEW Title. This is the closing shot of the evening with a bit of foreshadowing potentially shown for the future of Moxley’s title reign.
AEW Dynamite March 25th 2020 - Blood and Guts
AEW Blood and Guts has finally arrived! What is essentially a PPV for the AEW roster takes center stage in the wrestling world.
In the opener of the evening, Best Friends and Orange Cassidy manage to upset Death Triangle, handing them their first loss as an official faction. This loss shouldn’t hurt the heels very much, as the roll up pin fall from Cassidy on Penta keeps every man in the match strong. After the bell, Best Friends are subjected to another beat down, emphasizing that even in loss, Death Triangle are dominant and here to make a statement.
Lance Archer also proves a statement in the other notable undercard match, as he defeats Darby Allin in decisive fashion. Jake Roberts doesn’t really help Archer cheat, instead jus feeding him advice and allowing Archer to showcase his own power.
In the semi-main event of the evening Jon Moxley is slated to take on a mystery opponent in an open challenge. The open challenge is answered by Christopher Daniels, in his Fallen Angel persona, ditching the traditional SCU theme for his character that matched most of his TNA run! Moxley is game for this challenge, and amps himself up to face a legend of the wrestling business.
This match is relatively straightforward, as Daniels is getting on in age and has lost a step. However, a solid showing is still in order, and Daniels manages to last just under 20 minutes with the champion. A Paradigm Shift is enough to end it, and the two shake hands after the bell. With Moxley leaving Daniels to recover. Daniels takes a couple of seconds, but the lights go out soon after and the fans in New York are left to speculate as to what’s going on. The lights come back up with The Dark Order surrounding Christopher Daniels in the ring. The fans are a bit confused, and are even more so as the lights go back down. They come back up again, and a man in a white robe with a hood standing in front of a panicked Christopher Daniels. The man lowers down the hood off of his face to reveal Brodie Lee! The fans in Lee’s hometown go crazy as Lee attacks Christopher Daniels! He beats down The Fallen Angel, and then lifts him right back up into a Sister Abigail hold. He swings Daniels out, then into a Discus Lariat, leaving Daniels laying! The Dark Order surrounds Lee and he snaps, turning the lights back off, with them disappearing into the darkness. When the light returns, the ring is emptied and the fans are in complete shock. Brodie Lee, is the Exalted One.
Finally, we reach the climax of Blood And Guts. The Elite and a mystery partner take on the Inner Circle. The fans, still on the high of Brodie Lee’s appearance, are even more shocked by the mystery man being Matt Hardy!! Hardy walks down to the ring and is the first man for the now Broken Elite in the Blood and Guts match! This surprise advantage is what makes the difference in the main event, as the ELITE are able to overcome their differences and win the match, putting yet another dent in the Inner Circle’s foundation. The ELITE and Matt Hardy stand tall to close the end of the show, with AEW officially entering the next chapter of their promotion’s history.
AEW Dynamite April 1st
AEW Dynamite has a very important show lined up, as a new chapter in the company's history is about to take off.
The show starts with the ELITE and Matt Hardy hyping up their victory in the Blood and Guts match. The Inner Circle are left to lick their wounds, meaning there is a lack of challengers to the now top faction in AEW. As they talk, they are interrupted by the lights going out, and Dark Order creepers storming the ring yet again, this time with Brodie Lee at the helm! The Dark Order ambushes the Broken ELITE and stands tall after dominating that group. Brodie Lee gets a microphone after the baby faces are down and out, and begins to speak his first words in AEW.
Lee discusses his dominant debut, bashing down Christopher Daniels, and then says that his next sights are on the ELITE and the AEW World Title. He says that he is coming straight for the top, and that Jon Moxley better be watching over his back. The Dark Order leaves the ring, making their statement more by their actions rather than their words.
Jon Moxley comes down to the ring later in the night for a promo. He talks about not wanting to give Brodie a shot, and says that Lee should come after him like a man instead of just talking crap. Upon that statement, Death Triangle makes their way down to the ring and ambushes Moxley, triple teaming him on an attack. They trash Moxley, then throw him out of the ring. Moxley fires himself up though and gets to his feet as Death Triangle stare him down. He is still holding the mic from earlier and simply says, “Challenge Accepted” knowing that their statement is already plenty clear.
AEW Dynamite April 8th 2020
Moxley comes out to start the show this week, and lays down a challenge on his end. Death Triangle, while underhanded in the way they did it, had the guts to come at the champion physically. He respects that. The AEW title is about aggression, and Death Triangle’s presence has been nothing but that. That is why he suggests that next week, he lays down the title on the line against Pentagon Jr. He has spoken to Tony Khan and got that bout approved, meaning his second defense is right on the way.
Death Triangle exhibit their strength during the show in a match with The Hybrid 2 and Dustin Rhodes , taking a win in trios action. Penta picks up the pinfall victory, and warrants himself a title match.
Domination from the Dark Order and Lance Archer also ensue, putting them up as worthy challengers to the AEW roster. Regardless of what comes next, Moxley seems filled with viable threats to his reign.
AEW Dynamite April 15th 2020
PAC speaks for the Death Triangle in the show’s opener, hyping up their strength as one collective unit. He speaks to their threat to Moxley, and promises Moxley will endure one heck of a fight against the man with Cero Miedo. That’s it for the hype building on the night, but the announcers due make sure to plug the eventual main event.
Death Triangle enters the main event, bold and confident, the three united in strength. Moxley enters by himself, the belt his only company, sure that his personal work will be enough to carry him through. The bell rings and we are quickly underway.
They lockup and Moxley grounds things, but Pentagon escapes. Lockup, they trade shoulder tackles as Moxley takes him down, Pentagon stomps on Moxleys arm, making him writhe in pain. Moxley delivers chops and hits a German. Pentagon cuts him off, attacking the arm and grounds the action with crossface strikes to the arm. Pentagon follows with kicks, focusing on the arm and his a couple of knee drops. Moxley fires back but Pentagon dumps him. He follows him out, slams him face first to the apron and Moxley fires back as they spill into the crowd. They fight up into the second level, brawling through the fans and then back down the steps as Pentagon slides down them following strikes from Moxley.
Back to the ring, Pentagon attacks the arm and follows with a missile dropkick but Moxley rebounds with a lariat as both men are down. Back to the feet, they trade and Moxley hits a dump suplex for 2. Pentagon counters back, attacks the arm and they work up top. Moxley shoves Pentagon off to the mat, and the elbow drop eats knees, Fear Factor by Pentagon, but Moxley counters into a cradle for 2. Enziguri by Pentagon, Kawada kicks to the Arm and the basement dropkick gets 2. Pentagon up top and a Lanza eats knees and Moxley cradles him for 2. Pentagon kicks the arm,, German by Pentagon and he heads back up top. Lanza misses! Moxley runs into a superkick, but rebounds into death rider and covers for 2. Pentagon to the floor, Moxley follows and rolls him back in, heads up top and Pentagon cuts him off with a superplex and the crossface follows.
Moxley fights, and makes the ropes with his feet. Pentagon goes for a springboard but Moxley cradles, Death rider follows, and Moxley goes for an elevated Death Rider but Pentagon pushes the ref and Mox takes him out! PAC and Fenix run in and Fenix hits a huge superkick. Pac goes up top for the Black Arrow but Moxley rolls out of the way then hits a Death Rider on Fenix. Mox throws both Pac and Fenix out of the ring and goes for a suicide dive on both but Pentagon pulls him away. Mox turns around and hits a huge DDT then pulls off a sucide dive to Fenix and PAC. Moxley wakes up the ref, then picks up Pentagon and gives him an elevated Death Rider for the win!
Moxley again exits through the crowd, winning this first battle with Death Triangle! The champion retains in his second defense, and once again proves himself a worthy champion. While not a reign of terror, Moxley feels more than comfortable with the potential length of his reign and he doesn’t seem intent on letting it go.
AEW Dynamite April 22nd 2020
Moxley comes out to brag about handly defeating Pentagon, even with the help of PAC and Fenix. However, Death Triangle is in no way done with Jon Moxley. They come down to the ring and say that even though he beat one of them, he isn’t greater than their collective whole. Even if he found two others to join him in his quest, he couldn’t defeat them with any modicum of effort. Moxley sees this as a personal threat and makes the decision to again go on the offensive and challenge them once more. Moxley and two partners vs Death Triangle, if Death Triangle can defeat Moxley’s trio, the unit will have another shot at the title. DT is more than game to accept, and say that they will see him next week in the main event of the evening.
Elsewhere, Brodie Lee of the Dark Order calls out Jon Moxley, saying he is dodging him and his aspirations for a shot at the title. Lee promises that one day, he will get a shot at the World Title, and when he does, The Dark Order will rule All Elite Wrestling.
AEW Dynamite April 29th 2020
In the six man tag team match, Moxley chooses two men that match his style very well in The Butcher and The Blade. However, it ends up being them that let Moxley down, as Butcher is pinned in the match by Rey Fenix. Fenix’s win is enough to warrant him being the next one to get a title shot, meaning Moxley’s next challenger is clear. WIth Double or Nothing soon on the horizon, Fenix will challenge in two weeks, providing Moxley’s last challenge before the PPV. AEW May 13th 2020
They (Moxley and Fenix) lockup and work the ropes for the break. Fenix grounds things and then follows with tackles, and grounds things again. Moxley fights, working to his feet and attacks the arm. He then follows with chops, Fenix fires back and Moxley then grounds things. Fenix counters out and takes control grounding the champion. Moxley escapes, they trade and Fenix kicks the same arm that Pentagon was working on. Moxley counters into a backbreaker, and follows with crossface strikes. He works over Fenix in the corner, follows with a backbreaker and covers for 2. They trade, working into counters and Fenix hits the spin kick until Moxley dumps him to the ramp. Moxley follows, works him over and knocks Fenix to the floor. They trade on the floor, Moxley shoots him to the barricade and is in control as he rolls back in. The dump suplex follows for 2. Moxley hits the Regal knee trembler, sending Fenix to the floor. Moxley flies to the floor, but Fenix cuts that off and back in, hits the missile dropkick. Fenix follows with the slingshot DDT and covers for 2. The Tornillo is countered into a German, but Fenix counters into a backstabber and Black fire driver for 2. Head butt by Moxley and Fenix hits the dropkick until Moxley hits John warranting a Wooooooooooooo from the crowd.. Fenix counters the death rider, into an armbar, but Moxley escapes.
Fenix cuts him off with the draping leg drop, a German and follows with strikes as they trade. Lariat by Moxley but Fenix cradles him for 2. He suplexes Moxley to the buckles, and they work up top. Fenix knocks him off, but Moxley counters and tries to go for a Death Rider but instead takes a knee to the face. Moxley stumbles back and Fenix hits a brainbuster for two. Fenix continues his onslaught seemingly unfazed by the kick out and throws Moxley out of the ring. Fenix attempts a tope con hilo but Moxley cuts him off with an Uppercut! Moxley hits a rolling release suplex. Fenix kips up and hits a tiger feint kick immediately after! Fenix uses the barricade as a springboard and hits Moxley with a thunderous Tornado DDT. Fenix tries to throw Moxley into the ring but Moxley turns him around and chucks him into the apron. Moxley and Fenix are on the apron and Moxley hits a Pendulum lariat. Back in the ring, Moxley irish whips him into the ropes but Fenix turns it into a handspring cutter. Fenix hits a Gamengiri and covers for 2. Fenix goes up top and MISSES A 450 SPLASH! Fenix looks like he tweaked his ankle and Mox hits a Death Rider then covers for the win.
Double Or Nothing 2020
We’ll skip to Double Or Nothing Now, where The AEW World Title is On the Line! In the time between the defense against Fenix and now, PAC has challenged Moxley for one more shot for Death Triangle in a 30 min Iron Man Match! PAC has gotten this match, by stating that if he gets this bout, and loses, he will never fight Jon Moxley in an AEW ring again in singles action. Moxley, ever game for something with a bit of stakes (and in fitting with the Double Or Nothing Theme) decides to accept.
Also of note in the evening, is the victory of Darby Allin in the Casino Ladder Match! The rest of the roster ganged up to take the debuting Brian Cage out of the match, and it was Allin who made the most of his opportunity, gaining a future World Title shot!
With the reworked Stadium Stampede Match between The Elite and The Dark Order taking place in the main event, this bout takes place in the semi-main.
PAC and Moxley absolutely brutalize each other, trying to break each other’s body and spirit. The 30 Minute Iron Man Match allows each man to find innovative offense without it feeling rushed or pressured. In the end, Moxley is the man to come on top, as he crawls through and survives the Brutalizer from PAC for an entire minute, to come out on top by a final score of 4-3.
Moxley celebrates in the ring, finally devoid of the Inner Circle, but stands knowing another challenge is soon on the horizon.

Do You Have to Pay Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings?

We all love to read stories about big wins and imagine ourselves in the shoes of those winners. But, have you ever thought about what happens at that very moment after successfully beating the slot machine? Usually, the slot machine locks up and, in most cases, you hear the music and see the flashing lights on top of the machine. But one of the first questions every player asks is whether they have to pay taxes on casino winnings? Well, you’re about to find out!

Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in USA

In the USA, when a lucky player hits a jackpot, there’s the option of receiving the winnings in cash or check. In case it’s a large sum, it’s usually paid by check. However, the IRS only obliges the casinos to report winnings that are larger than $1,200.
Of course, all winners are obliged to show a proper identification— a valid ID or passport. When the casino checks for your identification they also look at your age to make sure you are officially and legally old enough to play. As the minimum legal age for gambling varies from state to state, be sure to check it out before you decide to play.

Do I Have to Report All Winnings?

All gambling winnings received from slot machines are subject to federal taxes, and both cash and non-cash winnings (like a car or a vacation) are fully taxable. Apart from slot machines, the same applies to winnings from lottery, bingo, keno, poker or other games of chance. So, if the amount won on a slot machine is higher than $1200, the casino is required to report it. In other words, all your gambling winnings have to be reported on your tax return as "other income" on Schedule 1 (Form 1040), line 8.

Slot Machine Winnings in W-2G Form

In case it happens to you and you snag that big win (which we hope one day you will), it’s useful to know that casino or other payer must give you a W-2G Form, listing your name, address and Social Security number. So, if the winnings are reported through a W-2G Form, federal taxes will be withheld at a rate of 25%.
If, however, you didn’t provide your Social Security number (or your Tax Identification Number), in that case the withholding will be 28%. Either way, a copy of your Form W-2G should be issued, showing the amount you won alongside the amount of tax withheld. One copy needs to go to the IRS, as well.
Aside from slot winnings, Form W-2G is issued to winners of the following types of gambling activities like:
However, not all gambling winnings are subject to IRS Form W2-G. For instance, W2-G forms are not required for winnings from table games like blackjack, baccarat, and roulette, whatever the amount. You’d still have to report your winnings to the IRS, it’s just you won’t need to do it through W-2G Form.

Are My Slot Losses Deductible?

The good news is that you can deduct your slot losses (line 28 of Schedule A, Form 1040), while the bad news is gambling losses are deductible only up to the amount of your wins. In other words, you can use your losses to compensate for your winnings. So, let’s say you won $200 on one bet, but you lost $400 on one or a few others, you can only deduct the first $200 of losses. Meaning if you didn’t win anything for a year, you won’t be able to deduct any of your gambling losses.
In order to prove your losses, you need to keep good records and have suitable documents. So, whenever you lose, keep those losing tickets, cancelled checks and credit slips. Your documentation must include the amount you won or lost, a date and time, type of wager, type of your gambling activity, name of each casino/address of each casino you visited and the location of their gambling business. You may as well list the people who were with you.

Do State and Local Taxes Apply Separately?

Yes, you are required to pay your state or local taxes on your gambling winnings. In case you travel to another state, and snag some huge winning combo there, that other state would want to tax your winnings too. But don’t worry, you won't be taxed twice, as the state where you reside needs to give you a tax credit for the taxes you pay to that other state.
Keep in mind though that some states like Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Ohio don't allow gambling losses.

Online Slot Taxes

Whether you usually spin the reels of your favourite casino games in land-based casinos in the US, overseas casinos, or online casinos, all income for the citizens of the US is taxable. As a US citizen, you are required to send Form W2G for all winnings from a slot machine (not reduced by the wager) that equals to or is more than $1,200.

Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in UK

As a resident of the United Kingdom, your gambling winnings won’t be taxed. Unlike the USA mentioned above, you’ll be allowed to keep whatever it is that you have won and earned in Britain, even in case you are a poker pro. Then again, you won’t be able to deduct any losses you might collect.
It doesn’t really matter if you win £5 or £5 million playing online slots, your winnings will be tax-free as long as you reside anywhere in the UK, be that in England, Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland.

Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in Canada

If you are a recreational player who lives in Canada, we have good news for you. When it comes to gambling, you don't have to pay taxes as your winnings are totally tax free. According to laws in Canada, gambling activities don’t fall under the category of constant source of income, therefore your winnings will not be taxed.
Canadians don't even pay taxes on their lottery winnings. The only exception here are professional gamblers who make a living from betting and are, therefore, obliged to pay taxes. Keep in mind though, this is the current situation - laws in Canada change frequently, which may also include tax laws.

Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in Australia

In case you reside in Australia and like to visit casinos from time to time, you’ll be happy to find out that your winnings in Australia will not taxed and here are 3 core reasons for that:
Of course, taxation varies from state to state.

Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in New Zealand

Unlike in Australia, where even professional players can claim they are recreational, in New Zealand slot machine winnings (and any other winnings from casino games) are considered taxable income, in case the player has little income from other resources.
But, apart from professional gambling, it is very unusual for winnings to be taxed in New Zealand. Most often, gambling is considered recreational and not income, so players can enjoy their gameplay as they do not have to pay taxes on their winnings.

Respect Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus) [New Update]

Demigod traits

Weapon

Anaklusmos/riptide is a 3 ft long sword with a leaf shaped blade. Made of celestial bronze that harms the divine and monstrous beings of the world along with mortals if the mortal is important enough such as Setne and Carter Kane, and it can even cut down ghouls and ghosts. It’s disguised as a pen that always returns to him and durable enough to survive full submersion in lava

Strength/striking

Lifting strength

Combat Speed

Scaling to a son of Athena * -Zane dodging the charge of a leonte that was fast enough to move down a hall as a flash of yellow, and move across an office in a flash DOA pg.25,42 * -Scaling to Annabeth who could dodge Kelli HOH ch.15 * -Who’s one of the fastest characters we’ve seen in the universe. She’s fast enough to blitz Rachel before riptide can even switch to sword form after being uncapped. BOTL ch.14 And from the lightning thief that it only takes half a second for the sword form to release, but Kelli moves faster * -Leo doing a backward somersault to dodge large rocks thrown at him at super speeds. TLH ch.43 * -Piper coming up from below a ridge to move fast enough to to be a blur of turquoise and black TLO ch.42 * -Jason deflecting lightning in a fight with a ventus he was tagged when he wasn’t ready to fight, so thishad nothing to do with being a son of Zeus cause he can be affected by lightning, This one needs context cause you could argue against it * -but venti are storm spirits. In PJO nature spirits obviously make up nature. From trees spirits to river spirits, they have humanoid forms, but are also literally a tree or river or flower. For this venti named Dylan his true form is a literal storm cloud along with the other venti that comes with him. Venti are literal thunderstorms because they are the thunderclouds. It’s not the same as characters like avatar characters that can generate lightning cause in this case the lighting is being generated by the actual cloud. * -Besides that feat he did dodge a charge of a venti who are fast enough to move only a little slower than Arion who’s supersonic BOO ch. 59

Movement speed

Only faster than above average mortals * - Ran 10 yards before Bianca could say anything. TTC ch.6 * - human magician in good shape struggling to keep up SOS pg.9 * - outpaced Sadie while holding a heavy object, COP pg.12 * - Apollo who had been turned mortal couldn’t keep up with Percy and Meg THO pg. 57

Durability/Endurance

Agility

Mist control

The mist is the uppermost layer of the Duat which is the realm of magic. It’s the reason mortals don’t see anything out of the ordinary when dealing with the magical. Someone who can control it can alter memories, appearances, summon weapons, make creatures to fight for you, hide objects even if they’re directly in-front of you, create illusions, and teleport. Though he’s not very good at it Percy has shown the ability to make small illusions and hide in plain sight

Magic

Heat resistance

Magic resistance

Mental defense

Intelligence

Combat feats

Percy vs Ares * - Although Ares wasn’t taking him seriously it’s still impressive for a week trained 12 y/o especially since Ares seems to have battle precog because he knew where Percy was attacking before he even did it. Also shows how his adhd lets him see how his opponents tense, so he knows where the attack is gonna come from. TLT pg.341-344 * - After a year he’s considered one of the best swordsman in the last hundred years, cabins of super humans don’t work him out and he wishes he could fight the war gods cabins SOM ch.6 * - Curse Percy vs. Minotaur TLO ch.11 * - Against Carter he showed to be quick and strong, and while it was completely one-sided, he still told Carter he did better against him than most others SOS pg.5-6 * -Beating up the 1st and 2nd cohort of Camp Jupiter. Lots of rolling and flipping showing a very active and athletic fighting style SON ch.12 * -Easily beats Magnus, son of Frey, in hand to hand combat TSTD ch.1 While Magnus isn’t much of a fighter, he’s still capable of ripping a 20 ft. long lamppost out the ground and jump 60 ft. vertically. Percy’s trained in unarmed combat at Camp and this is one of the few times he does

Will

Aegis feats
Important to note that- while using his powers does drain him over time, the amount he's drained is pretty overstated. His storm powers are the only ones that drain him, in the way that he'll feel physically tired from it, but being to able to use his water powers at a high level is never affected especially considering his best feat occured after prolonged use of his storm powers.

Hydrokinesis

Water healing

Water amp

Hydrogenesis

Strom Generation

Geokinesis

Other powers

Wolf stare

A glare he learned from his mama wolf Lupa that scares people. It’s kinda like his bat-glare
Scares a gang SON ch. 16 Makes Leo,a fellow demigod, tremble MOA pg.46 Scares Piper BOO ch.19

Animal friends

Curse of Achilles

user gains invulnerability, increased fighting prowess, but one weak spot that can only be pierced, and even a nick is enough to kill

Avatar mode

Percy merged with the Egyptian vulture goddess Nekhbet granting him a few more abilities
